tattoos
a story that goes deeper than skin
-
From a young age I was drawn to tattoos. I love the intricate details that go into each piece. Every person who carries a tattoo on their shell allows different parts of their story to be shared with the rest of the world. The permanency of them on the skin is something that I find very delicate in itself as well. When we die and our souls leave our bodies… we too leave our individual stories on Earth behind and go on to live a renued life. The things we go through and experience are attached to this world and to the shells we walk in.
For the short time we are here… why don’t we decorate our shells and allow others to become curious about who we are and where we have been. Tattoos are a story that go deeper than the skin.

My style ranges from doing small intricate detailed line work to… large bold thick American Traditional style. I limit my use of color to mainly black and grey work with white highlights. If you would like color I am not opposed to it, I just have a limited color selection. I take inspiration from the little things in life. Focusing on the little moments that mean the most as well as large transitional points in life. I include an antique and delicate style with crisp line work that are related to my thin lined tattoos. As well as making a statement that is bold yet classy with the American Traditional style. I am inspired by the Pacific North West nature, antiques, memories, art nouveau, and ornamental design.

Prior to your tattoo, clients are advised of the following:
Hydrate and moisturize days prior to the tattoo as well as drinking water (1-2 liters per day before appointment)
Avoid partying or drinking alcohol the night before and do not show up under the influence to your appointment
Avoid tanning to close to the appointment so that the tan does not affect the ink, irritate skin, or have the appointment affect the tan either
Shave the area that will be tattooed (cover a larger area than you think is needed to leave room for placement variations)
Wear black and proper attire
Protect skin from sun

I will try my best to give you an estimated range for the tattoo, however I charge by the hour so the estimation would be based on time. Some tattoos take longer or shorter than I perceive in the beginning so just keep in mind that if the tattoo is larger than my minimum (2 inches) then it could cost more than anticipated based on the allotted time.

I advise to wait 5-7 days before doing any intense exercise that will make you sweat. That also goes for getting the tattoo wet in the shower, hot tub, sauna, ect. I would wait even a week to a week and a half before fully submerging your tattoo in water.

I do not cary numbing cream or spray in my arsenal, but you are more than welcome to apply it 45 minutes before the tattoo to let it set in if you have or want some yourself. Please let me know before hand if you have applied any.

For freehand tattoos I love working with my clients to create the design on the skin and asking your personal preferences throughout the process. I would allow an hour to an hour and half for creating the freehand design before even touching the skin with a needle (keep in mind when booking the tattoo and allowing us enough time to create).
